MINI Avenue - an off-the-peg MINI Yours
We already know that MINI seems to launch more limited editions every year than the whole of the rest of the car industry. But now they’re going a step further with a customisation programme called ‘MINI Yours’, and an off-the-peg version called the MINI Avenue. MINI Yours is all about offering the sort of customisation offered for the original Mini in the 1960s by companies like Radford - and about making good margins on the add-ons – with a huge range of customisation stuff above and beyond what appears in the MINI Limited Editions.
Chrysler Ypsilon - UK prices and details
As part of Fiat’s efforts to integrate its range with its new toy – Chrysler – we are now getting Chrysler-badged Lancias in the UK, in this case Lancia’s stretched Fiat 500/Panda – the Chrysler Ypsilon. The Chrysler Ypsilon is the first new Lancia – in all but name – to get to the UK since Lancia gave up on the UK market after we got fed up with Lancias falling apart back in 1993. But as we’ve taken to the Fiat 500 in droves, there’s a decent chance the UK will take to the grown-up 500 in the guise of the stretched Chrysler Ypsilon with its extra room.
Vladimir Antonov provided the finance for Victor Muller to buy Saab
Victor Muller has told Swedish TV that the money he used to buy Saab was funded by alleged fraudster Vladimir Antonov. In a revelation that will surprise no one, Saab ‘owner’ Victor Muller has revealed that the $74 million paid to GM when Spyker (as they then were) bought Saab was supplied to one of Victor Muller’s companies by Snoras Bank refugee Vladimir Antonov. Muller revealed this little nugget of information in an interview due to be televised in Sweden tomorrow, and also revealed he still owed the money (well, the company he owns still owes the money).
